DA VINCI  MUSIC DECODED

20 May 2008 15:00 - 18:00 at the Leonardo Hall, Galleria Uffizi, Florence, Italy, two works of Daniel Nazareth will be presented and performed before an international press corps and audience:

1) La Canzone di Leonardo    and

2) The Piano Trio Nr. 2 (The Gevian-Trio).

1) LA CANZONE DI LEONARDO

This 8 min work for baritone and orchestra/ pianoforte consists of 8 bars of original, authentic Leonardo melody and text, decoded from his notebooks, harmonized and orchestrated by Daniel Nazareth. This authentic Leonardo melody was deciphered (2007) by Nazareth and Louis Buff Parry to bear out the same Pythagoras 47 theorem that Leonardo loved to use as architect, painter, scientist and inventor.

La Canzone di Leonardo will be the title song in the operatic musical THE LEONARDO BRIDGE that Nazareth is creating for Istanbul European Capital of Culture 2010. This is the story of the bridge at the Golden Horn that Leonardo Da Vinci planned 500 years ago and that the Turkish authorities decided to finally build in 2006.

The song will be performed by the American baritone Frank Basile and Anand Nazareth, piano.

2) The GEVIAN TRIO for piano, violin and violoncello will receive its Italian premiere. The work is constructed from the first names: GEETA, VIJAY and ANAND of the Nazareth siblings who will perform this Trio, dedicated to the Renaissance genius Leonardo Da Vinci.

Violin: Geeta Nazareth,

Violoncello: Vijay Nazareth

Piano: Anand Nazareth
